* *       AxHandle       * *

AxHandle is a "point and click" front-end that demonstrates embedding AxleBase in a host, and shows the developer how to use it. AxHandle installs with an embedded Axlebase.

AxHandle gives the impression that it is part of AxleBase, but it is not. AxleBase has no front end. It is embedded in AxHandle just like it can be embedded in any host app.

Demonstration Databases :
        AxHandle has a push-button that creates demonstration databases, runs a suite of SQL tests, and displays the commands and SQL of the test script. It then allows you to run commands against the test databases.

Push-Button Commands :
        All AxleBase commands are presented in a point-and-click list with parameter examples so that you can easily run them with a push-button. You can create and test your own databases or use the demo databases.

( AxHandle is used many times daily in the AxleBase lab as a development and test tool so it is a well-tested demonstrator.)

* *       AxServer       * *

AxServer is a simple database server that uses AxleBase as its database manager. It demonstrates the server support that is built into AxleBase for a database server host.

AxServer uses the socket interface for communication. Its protocol stack is SysLink/ TCP/ IP. (SysLink is published in the AxleBase documentation.)

AxServer requires AxHandle as the client, but AxHandle does not require AxServer.

To run AxServer and AxHandle together requires at least two networked computers.

( AxServer is used in the AxleBase lab as a development and test tool. )

( Pursuant to the commands of Him for whom I work, my software transmits only that which is openly and simply specified and only to systems that you specify. Furthermore, in His trust, care is taken to insure that every transmission contains only what you would want if you had the time to study every transmission and all documentation.)

* *       Documentation       * *

Since they are simple point-and-click operators, AxHandle and AxServer require little documentation. There are some pop-up notes, and they have a short section in the AxleBase documentation.

This entire copyrighted web site will be on the disk with the software.

Additionally, the disk will include the AxleBase documentation page, which is no longer published on the web site.

The AxleBase documentation is a hundred thousand words describing in detail how to operate all features and sub-systems. It is designed to be sufficient for a professional DBA to operate AxleBase in a production environment. Since some of his technology is extremely advanced, it also discusses new concepts and presents many suggestions. Coverage goes far beyond that on this web site.

* *       Restrictions       * *

Motivation :
        Much intellectual property has already been stolen from this and other sites. Not even source credit was given. The hope is that control of access to the documentation and demonstrators will mitigate continued intellectual property theft.

Encryption and Authentication :
        All encryption and authentication may be disabled. Most certainly, the deep level encryption and authentication mechanisms are entirely removed from the demonstrators.

Cycle Limit :
        Because the software is for demonstration only, a cycle limiter will be embedded in AxleBase to discourage using him in a production role. It limits the number of commands and the run duration each time that the software is loaded. An error is returned when the limit is reached. Each time that the software is unloaded and restarted, the limits are reset to random values.

The cycle limiter slows command execution slightly, but has no perceptible effect on the demonstration purpose of the software.

Identification :
        You will be asked to identify yourself and your employer and proof may be required.
        A unique identifier and consignee identity are embedded in the AxleBase software before shipment. That information can be displayed by any user of the software.

Destinations :
        Shipped within North America only.
        Forthright and honest interest from outside that area may lead to tentative discussion.

* *       Research Support       * *

Research support requires definitive proof of the identities of the requestor and employer.

Limiter :
        Upon request, some relaxation of the limiter may be considered for research purposes.

Multiple Copies :
        Large organizations may request the shipment of multiple copies of a disk that is identified to that organization. Each will have its own serial number.

Large Data Sets :
        The AxHandle demonstrator is designed to create large data tables in an unattended operation.
        Assuming a fast rate of one row created every thousandth of a second, a table of one hundred billion records would take years to build.
        Therefore, mentor requests may be honored for large data set generation to reduce that time.

Authentication and Encryption :
        Authentication and encryption will not be enabled in the demonstrators for any reason.

Research support is not a commitment and is subject to personal whim as motivated by Man's general level of dishonesty. Much intellectual property has already been stolen.
